Party in the Park (Olney Days) A combined event for Rock the Lot Block Party and the Fun Fair & Fireworks, Party in the Park is typically hosted at the end of April at Olney Manor Park. The event benefits the Olney Civic Fund, Project Change, and the Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department, bring your whole family and neighbors to the Party In The Park. You’ll find us there alongside local craft beer/wine, food trucks, carnival games, and live music.
Farmers Market Open from May to October, the farmers market is at the field off the intersection of 108 and Prince Phillip Dr. by the hospital. We will be there on two Sundays with our own table- keep an eye out and come say hi!
Hosted mid-May at the Montgomery Country Club (20908 Golf View Drive - Laytonsville). You can sign up to participate as a single or 4-person golf team or just come to spectate! Proceeds benefit the Albert Einstein High School Hall of Fame and Make-A-Wish Mid Atlantic. We’ll be there supporting the cause!
The AEHS Hall of Fame Annual Richard McNally Scholarship Golf Tournament Hosted mid-May at the Montgomery Country Club (20908 Golf View Drive - Laytonsville). We’ll be there supporting the cause!
Jeremy’s Run A local race hosted on Memorial Day at the Fair Hill Shopping Center, you have the option for a 10K, 5K walk, 1-mile fun run, or to cheer on the runners. The goal is to increase awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and to benefit The Kolmac Foundation, MedStar Montgomery’s Addiction & Mental Health Services for Adolescent Outreach Program, “Jeremy’s Hour: Knowledge Can Save a Life”, in partnership for drug-free kids. We’ll be there to honor Jeremy Glass and this important cause!
Strawberry Festival For a weekend in early June, this farmer market-style event celebrates community by bringing together Olney’s local businesses and services for residents to meet and learn more about. It takes place at the Sandy Spring Museum on Route 108 across from Sherwood High School. It features pony rides, food and drink, live music and more. Stop by our tent, we’ll be there all weekend! The 2019 event is scheduled for June 1st (10am-5pm) and 2nd (11am-4pm).
National Night Out Part of a nation-wide community-building effort, NNO is hosted on the first Tuesday in August to promote strong and positive “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie…for safer, more caring places to live and work”. You’ll have a chance to meet various first responders, try food from local restaurants, meet the businesses in the area and learn more about what the community has to offer for you and your family. We are honored to support this event and you’ll find us there every year!
Life Chiropractic Scholarship Fundraising Event As part of our efforts to give back to the community, we sponsor several college scholarships for local students pursuing studies in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), particularly health-related fields. We host a fundraising dinner with a raffle for numerous goods and services baskets sponsored by local businesses. More information on date, time and location will be on our website- keep an eye out so you can snag a ticket and support your local students! Ask us for more information if you have a high school senior who may be eligible to apply for our scholarship.
Taste of Olney An evening of fun, prizes and food, Taste of Olney is hosted in October at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. This is another opportunity to meet local businesses and learn about their products and services. Think of it as a in-person preview of what Olney has to offer. We will be there to share with our community what we have to offer and to learn more about our neighbors- come say hello!
